What is the Junior Committee Summer Camp?

The Junior Committee Summer Camps have become the Junior Committee’s trademark activity since the committee was founded in 2007. They provide the perfect setting for learning and networking opportunities for young researchers and clinicians. The feedback from our past editions have been overwhelmingly positive.

The EAO Junior Committee invites only 30 young researchers and clinicians for a 3-day camp combining communication and leadership coaching sessions, networking and social activities, all in a relaxing environment.

This year, the summer camp takes place in Slovenia on July 4-6, 2025.

This unique opportunity:  

  • helps participants to optimise their resilience by exploring the topic “how to Handle Stress and Improve Work-Life Balance?”
  • prepares the next generation of the EAO influencers and builds a strong EAO professional community,  
  • helps to transfer acquired knowledge to all EAO members with innovative sharing formats and platforms.

Who can apply? 

  • Postgraduate Dental student or dentist (working in University Hospital or Private practice).
  • 35 years old or younger at time of the Summer Camp 2025 (i.e born after 04/07/1989, MM/DD/YYYY).
  • EAO members at the time of the application

    • describing within the profession (can be extended to personal situation) where/when you have felt extremely stressed or anxious about a situation and how did you handle this (either positive or negative outcome)
    • Why would you be good candidate to attend the EAO Junior Committee Summer Camp 2025?

What to expect during this Summer Camp? 

Schedule: 

  • Arrival in the morning of Friday, July 4th 
  • Programme starts on Friday afternoon and ends Sunday afternoon. 
  • Departure on Sunday, July 6th late afternoon or early evening. 

Included: 

  • 2 nights – [Friday and Saturday] in 4* resort hotel (breakfast included)  
  • Workshop/coaching sessions (with coffee breaks): be happily surprised by the programme and speakers*
  • Social activities*
  • Group lunch on Saturday and Sunday 
  • Group dinner on Friday and Saturday

Not included:  

  • roundtrip to Slovenia. 
  • airport transfers
  • additional room charges 

Insurance:  Any activities (social, sports, etc.) suggested during the EAO Junior Committee Summer Camp are under the whole responsibility of each participant. You need to get a personal insurance in case of an accident during any activity. 

Participants will only have to cover their own roundtrip travel to Slovenia, insurance, and any additional expenses.

* More details will be revealed upon selection of the 30 participants. 

Next Steps: 

  • Application deadline: February 28th, 2025 
  • The Junior Committee will then review all applications and select 30 final participants. 
  • Notification to all applicants: End of March 2025 – only 30 candidates will be invited. 
  • The 30 selected participants to confirm their participation by February 28th.
