Irena Sailer received her dental education and Dr. med. dent. degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tübingen, Germany in 1997/ 1998. In 2003 Dr. Sailer received an Assistant Professorship at the Clinic of Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics and Dental Material Sciences in Zurich. Since September 2013 she is the Head of the Division of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials at the University of Geneva. Irena Sailer is a Specialist for Prosthodontics (Swiss Society for Reconstructive Dentistry) and for Dental Implantology WBA (Swiss Society for Dentistry).

Since 2009 she is an Adjunct Associate Professor at University of Pennsylvania, USA, and since 2019 an Honorary Professor at the University of Aarhus, Denmark.

She is a Member of the Executive Committee of the EAO (European Association for Osseointegration), and the President of the EAED (European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry). She is also an Active Fellow of the GNYAP (Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics).

Since 2019 Irena Sailer is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Prosthodontics and a member of ICP.

Magnus Björnsson graduated from the University of Iceland School of Dentistry in 1992. After 3 years as an associate in private practice in Reykjavik he spent a year at the Karolinska Institute Department of Periodontology, Stockholm. He finished his Ph.D. in periodontology from the University of Copenhagen School of Dentistry in 2001.

Since 2006 he has been one of the owners of a private dental clinic in Reykjavik, Iceland, focusing on peridontology and implant dentistry. From 2015-2022 Magnus was an Assistant Professor at the University of Iceland School of Dentistry as well as a specialist at the University Hospital of Iceland.

He has also worked extensively for the Icelandic dental assiciation.Magnus has been on the EAO abstract committee since 2018 and is currently one of the co-chairs of the EAO Abstract Committee. He has held numerous lectures on dentistry, mainly within the field of periodontology and implant dentistry

Prof. Dr. Jan Cosyn graduated as Dentist at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2000. He specialized in Periodontology and Oral Implantology at the same institution and combined his training with a PhD program. Today Dr. Cosyn is appointed Professor at Ghent University. He is Chairman of the Department of Periodontology and Oral Implantology and Program Director of the EFP-accredited postgraduate program in Periodontology. Prof. Cosyn was promotor of 11 PhD projects and published over 130 articles in international peer-reviewed journals. He performs research on immediate implant placement, alveolar ridge preservation and soft tissue augmentation and is frequently invited as a speaker at national and international conferences.

Professor Heitz-Mayfield received a Masters in Periodontology (1996) and Odont Dr (PhD) (1998) from Lund University, Sweden. Awarded a Brånemark Scholarship at the Brånemark Center, Malmo, Sweden. Awarded an ITI scholarship at the University of Berne, Switzerland where she became Head of the Oral Microbiology Research Laboratory, from 1999-2003. Received the André Schroeder Research Prize in Implant Dentistry. Chair of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) Research Committee, and member of the ITI Board of Directors from 2013 – 2021. Recently awarded an Honorary ITI Fellowship. Current positions include Adjunct Professor at the International Research Collaborative, The University of Western Australia, Professor at The University of Sydney, and Guest Professor at the University of Berne and the University of Shanghai. Osteology Foundation board member. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Oral Implants Research. Scientific publications in the fields of periodontal regeneration and management of peri-implant diseases. As a specialist in periodontology Prof Heitz-Mayfield maintains a private practice limited to periodontology and implant surgery with an emphasis on regeneration, prevention and comprehensive treatment planning.

Christel Larsson got her dental degree at Lund University in 1996 and has practiced in the public dental health sector as well as in private practice. She is a licensed specialist in Prosthodontics since 2011 and currently has a position as Associate professor and Head of the Department of Prosthodontics at Malmö University.
Her research focus is on dental materials, manufacturing techniques and dental implants, with a special interest in dental ceramics. The research comprises prospective clinical trials, retrospective long-term multifactorial analyses as well as laboratory studies. She has international collaborations and is currently visiting associate professor at Riga Stradins University. She is a member of the review board of the International Journal of Prosthodontics.

Ana Messias received her degree in Dentistry in 2008 from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra, Portugal, and completed a postgraduate programme in Prosthodontics in 2011 at the same university. She completed her PhD in 2019, specializing in biomechanics of dental implants and prostheses (Faculty of Medicine, University of Coimbra). Currently, Ana Messias is Assistant Professor of Removable Prosthodontics at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra and teaches at the Doctoral Program in Health Sciences of the same institution. Ana Messias has authored several international peer-reviewed articles and, as investigator at the Centre for Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Processes as well as at the Bioinformatics and Medical Statistics Laboratory of the University of Coimbra is active in the research field of numerical and experimental biomechanics of dental implants and prostheses, clinical studies and evidence synthesis.

Doc. Ausra Ramanauskaite is a specialist in periodontology, oral surgery and implantology. She completed dental education (DDS) (2006–2011) and specialization in periodontology (2011–2014) at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Lithuania. She received the PhD degree in 2018 (Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Lithuania) and Dr. med.dent title (Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main) in 2019. In 2023 she obtained a private docent title at the Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Currently, Ausra Ramanauskaite is working at the Oral Surgery and Implantology Department at Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. Ausra has authored international peer-reviewed publications and is active in the research field of peri-implant pathology, bone and soft tissue regeneration.

Mario Roccuzzo is Adjunct Professor in the Division of Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Torino, and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan, USA. He teaches Periodontology in several Master courses at various Universities. He is an ITI fellow, past-president of the Italian section, chair of the Leadership Development Committee, Study Club director in Torino, and member of the Osteology Expert Council. He serves on the editorial board of Clinical Oral Implants Research, the International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry, and the International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Roccuzzo has been invited to lecture in 50 countries of all continents, and maintains a private practice limited to Periodontology and Implantology, in Torino. Awarded for the best clinical presentation on implants in periodontally compromised patients at the 2009 EAO Congress in Montecarlo and for the best published research article on the same subject by the DGP in 2010. Winner of the 2013 Osteology Clinical Research Prize. Mario Roccuzzo is co-author of the recent book “Peri-implant Soft-Tissue Integration and Management”.

Prof. Dr. Daniel Thoma is the Head of Implantology and Regeneration at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, University of Zurich, Switzerland.

Goran Benic is Specialist of Reconstructive Dentistry at a private clinic in Lugano andat the Center of Dental Medicine, University of Zurich, Switzerland. Iva Milinkovic is the Assistant Professor at the Department of Periodontology and Oral Medicine, where she graduated in 2006, defended her PhD thesis in 2011, and completed residency program in 2014. Andrea Mombelli graduated from the University of Bern School of Dental Medicine and completed his post-graduate studies reaching the status of Private Docent in 1992. He has a Swiss Federal diploma in dentistry (D.D.S.), a Doctorate in dentistry (Dr. med. dent.) and is a Swiss board-certified periodontist.

Andrea Mombelli was professor and director of the Division of Periodontology at the Clinic of Dental Medicine of the University of Geneva, Switzerland (1999-2019). Earlier he held the position of Head of the Laboratory for Oral Microbiology at the School of Dental Medicine of the University of Bern, Switzerland (1992-1999). He is former president of the Swiss Society of Periodontology (1992-1996 and 2004-2008).

He and his colleagues have been pioneers in studies on the diagnosis, etiology and therapy of peri-implantitis. He has conducted multiple clinical trials evaluating antimicrobial protocols to optimize the treatment of periodontal and peri-implant diseases.

Dr. Mombelli has received several awards and honorary memberships of various societies of periodontology and implantology. In 2019 he received the IADR Distinguished Scientist Award for Research in Periodontal Disease and in 2020 the Distinguished Scientist Award of the EFP.

Prof. Eduardo Montero graduated in Dentistry at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) where he also completed the Master in Dental Sciences and the EFP-accredited Postgraduate Program in Periodontics and Dental Implants. He received a grant to partially carry out his doctorate studies at the Forsyth Institute, successfully defending his PhD thesis, qualified with Outstanding Cum Laude, an International Mention, and the Extraordinary Doctorate Award. He has also a Degree in Design and Statistics in Health Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and has published more than 40 scientific manuscripts. He regularly lectures in national and international conferences and is member of the Expert Council of the Osteology Foundation and the Education Committee of the EAO. Dr Närhi graduated at the University of Turku in 1986. He completed his PhD and specialist training in prosthetic dentistry and stomatognathic physiology at the University of Helsinki in 1994. Dr. Närhi has worked as a post doc researcher at the University of Iowa, USA and as senior teacher at the University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Dr. Victor Palarie serves as a leading researcher at the Rudolfs Cimdins Riga Biomaterials Innovations and Development Centre, Latvia, as well as a university lecturer-researcher at the University of Medicine in Moldova. He has extensive experience in clinical and experimental dentistry, clinical anatomy and tissue engineering, dental implantology and oral and maxillofacial surgery. Prof. Nicole Passia graduated from dentistry in 2006 and worked in a private practice. Afterwards, she worked in the Prosthodontic Departments of the University Clinics in Freiburg and Kiel and finished a Prosthodontic Spezialisation Program from the German Society for Prosthodontic Dentistry and Biomaterials e. V. In 2016, she received an ITI-scholarship to expand her education in implantology at the Center for Reconstructive Sciences at the University of Connecticut. Lucrezia Paterno Holtzman graduated from dental school in Rome, Italy, at the Sacred Heart Catholic University cum laude. She then completed a full-time 3 year periodontal and implant training in Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Boston USA in 2016. In the same year she completed a Master of Science (MSc) program at the same institution. Thereafter she completed the Implant Periodontal Prosthodontics Fellowship in Baltimore at the University of Maryland (USA). She is a licensed diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology since 2018.

Michael Payer – is the vice chair of the Department of Oral Surgery and Orthodontics at Medical University in Graz, Austria. He graduated in 2004 and received a specialty training in Oral Surgery. The focus of research lies within the field of Oral surgery, implant dentistry as well as tissue regeneration. Dr Payer has authored numerous publications in peer reviewed journals as well as several book contributions and is involved in international teaching and lecturing activities.

He runs a private practice in Graz dedicated to Oral Surgery and Implant dentistry. He has chaired the Austrian Society of Oral Implantology as well as the Austrian ITI Section and was actively involved in several EAO working committees.

Gerry M. Raghoebar received his DDS and MD degree at the University of Groningen. In 1988 he qualified as oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Since 1988, he is a staff member at the University Medical Center Groningen. He defended his PhD thesis in 1991. In 2006 he was appointed as a professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Groningen. From 1995 to 2006 he was member of the board of the Dutch Society of Oral Implantology and since 2006 he is honorary member of this society. He is a fellow of the European Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His current research efforts are focused on single tooth replacements, the edentulous maxilla, bone and soft tissue augmentation techniques, reconstruction of bone defects, and craniofacial implants. He has (co)authored numerous scientific publications and books.

Mario Roccuzzo is Adjunct Professor in the Division of Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Torino, and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan, USA. He teaches Periodontology in several Master courses at various Universities. He is an ITI fellow, past-president of the Italian section, chair of the Leadership Development Committee, Study Club director in Torino, and member of the Osteology Expert Council. He serves on the editorial board of Clinical Oral Implants Research, the International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry, and the International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Roccuzzo has been invited to lecture in 50 countries of all continents, and maintains a private practice limited to Periodontology and Implantology, in Torino. Awarded for the best clinical presentation on implants in periodontally compromised patients at the 2009 EAO Congress in Montecarlo and for the best published research article on the same subject by the DGP in 2010. Giovanni E. Salvi received his license in dental medicine in 1988 from the medical faculty of the University of Bern, Switzerland. In 1990 he received his „Dr. med. dent“ degree. Between 1992 and 1994 he was a graduate student in the Department of Periodontology and Fixed Prosthodontics at the University of Bern, Switzerland. From 1994 to 1997 he was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC, USA. In 1998 he became a board-certified periodontist. He has been since 1999 a fellow of the International Team of Implantology (ITI). In 2005 he was appointed teacher of the year in the School of Dental Medicine, Bern, Switzerland. Andreas Stavropoulos is Professor of Periodontology at the Dept. of Periodontology, Faculty of Odontology, Malmö University, Sweden, since 2013. During 2020-2021 he was Professor Ordinarius at the Dept. of Periodontology and Regenerative Dentistry, University Clinics of Dental Medicine (CUMD), University of Geneva, Switzerland, and is adjunct Professor also at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. He did his postgraduate training in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at Aarhus University, Denmark (1996-1999), wherefrom he also received his Ph.D. (2002) and dr. Odont. degree (2011) based on preclinical and clinical studies on regenerative periodontal therapy and in association with dental implants. He was President of the European Federation of Periodontology (2022-2023), is current Councilor of the Periodontal Research Group of the IADR, and Board Member of the International Academy of Periodontology. He is Editorial Board member in several esteemed dental journals, and editor-in-chief in Clinical and Experimental Dental Research. He is registered specialist in Periodontology in Sweden and treats patients at the University Specialty Clinic.

Prof. Dr. Hendrik Terheyden is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and chairman of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the Helios Hospital, Kassel, Germany. He holds a professorship at Medical Faculty of the University of Kiel. After his dental and medical education at the University of Kiel, he specialised in oral and maxillofacial surgery and plastic operations at the University Hospital of Kiel, where he worked as vice director until 2007. His clinical and scientific focuses are preprosthetic bone regeneration and reconstructive surgery in oncology. He published international textbooks on augmentation surgery and >100 international scientific papers. Prof. Terheyden is past president of the German Association of Dental Implantology (DGI). He serves as a board member in the International Academy of Facial and Oral Rehabilitation (IAOFR) and Strassbourg Osteosynthesis Research Group (SORG) and member of the abstract committee of the EAO. He is founding editor of the International Journal of Implant Dentistry (IJID) until 2022 and section editor of the International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (IJOMS).

Ann Wennerberg received her dental degree at the Dental Faculty, Gothenburg University, in 1979. She became Doctor of Medicine in 1996 at the department of Handicap Research and specialist in Oral Prosthodontics in 1997 at the Dental faculty of Gothenburg University. In 2002 she became Professor at the same university. Between 2008 and 2017 she held a position as Professor and chairman at the department of Prosthodontic, Malmö University. Her research has had a clear focus towards implant treatment and in particular studies of the importance of surface roughness for osseointegration. So far she has more than 300 publications in international, peer reviewed scientific journals and she has supervised more than 40 PhD students to dissertation. She has received numerous national and international awards for her research.

Duygu Yaman is an Associate Professor at the Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Periodontology. She received her DDS from Istanbul University in 1998, and her PhD from Istanbul University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Periodontology in 2004.

She was an ITI Scholar at the University of Zurich, Center of Dental Medicine, Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, between 2004-2005. Following her work as a periodontist at a private dental hospital, she joined Istanbul University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Periodontology as a Research Assistant in 2009. She received her Associate Professorship in 2015 and continues to teach and work at the same institution.

She has been a board member of the Association of Osseintegration Academy (OSSEDER) since 2019, a member of the Education Committee of Chamber of Dentists of Istanbul since 2023, was an ITI Fellow between 2010-2022, and was the ITI Istanbul Study Club Officer between 2010-2014. Prof. Unsal is born in 1965. He had his high school education in Ankara, Türkiye. Following his graduation from the Dental School of University of Ankara, he started his academic career as a research assistant in the Department of Fixed and Removable Prosthesis. He has been granted a government scholorship to have his Ph D at the University of Sheffield School of Clinical Dentistry on 1991. In October 1994 he has been awarded his Ph D degree with the topic ‘The Clinical Measurement of Stress & Strain Induced in Branemark Implant Fixtures and Abutments During the Fitting of a Cast Beam & During Application of Simulated Functional Loads’. He has done his military service at Gülhane Military Medical Academy, Ankara. He has become an associate professor in 1999 and professor in 2005. His work is mainly concentrated on dental implants and metal free ceramic restorations. He is the founder and current president of TFI (Together for Implantology) a non profit post graduate educational organization in Türkiye. Dr. Franz Strauss graduated from the University of Finis Terrae, Chile, in 2010. He completed a two-and-a-half-year residency in Periodontics at the University Valparaiso and obtained his Master of Science degree in 2015 from the University of Chile.

In 2017, he moved to Vienna to pursue his PhD at the Department of Oral Biology at the Medical University of Vienna. Since September 2019, he has served as a Research Assistant at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry at the University of Zurich (Chairman: Prof. Ronald Jung). In 2023, he has been promoted to the position of Senior Lecturer at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry. His main research focus has been on bone regeneration, encompassing basic, pre-clinical, and clinical research. He has published over 50 articles in renowned international peer-reviewed journals and has also served as a reviewer for several journals in the fields of periodontics and implant dentistry.
