DANIEL THOMA, Switzerland

GUIDED BONE REGENERATION

8:30 – 9:45

A talk on implant timing and the necessity of bone regeneration

Case presentation(s) and discussion on suggested clinical proceedings

12:00 – 13:00

Lunch

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The clinician is confronted with various options to place a dental implant following tooth extraction. Depending on the implant timing, clinical procedures and materials vary extensively. This lecture and workshop focused on the various options of implant timing, their advantages and disadvantages from a patient’s as well as clinician’s point of view. The focus is on the regenerative approaches on the hard tissue level and offers the participant straight forward clinical concepts.

13:30 – 15:30 #WORKSHOP 1: Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR)

You will learn step by step clinical procedures for early/late placement and concomitant GBR

15:30 – 16:00

Coffee break

16:00 – 18:00 #WORKSHOP 2: Alveolar Ridge Preservation (ARP)

You will learn step by step clinical procedures for alveolar ridge preservation

EIK SCHIEGNITZ, Germany

BONE REGENERATION WITH TITANIUM MESHES

13: 30 – 15:30 # Workshop 1: Soft Tissue Management for titianium mesh and umbrella screw

You will learn to perform the right incision technique, flap mobilization and suturing. We will also train roll flaps for second stage surgery.

15:30 – 16:00

Coffee Break

16:00 – 18: 00 #Workshop 2: Hard Tissue Management with CAD-CAM titanium mesh and umbrella screw

You will learn how to stabilize and fill the graft. We will also train to harvest safely autologous bone.

LUCA DE STAVOLA, Italy

BONE REGENERATION USING THE SHELL TECHNIQUE

8:30 – 9:45

Computer guided autogenous bone harvesting from the mandible

9:45 – 10:30

Coffee Break

10:30 – 11:15

Management of the vertical defect

11:15 – 12:00

Management of the atrophic aesthetic area

12:00 – 13:30

Lunch

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Autogenous bone is recognized to be the gold standard in bone augmentation procedures for its incomparable biological properties. Participants will learn how to understand the characteristics of the defect, increasing the capability to decide the optimal graft material and the surgical approach from both soft tissue and hard tissue point of views. Predictable strategies in soft tissue management will describe in detail from flap design, flap elongation and appropriate passive wound closure. Furthermore, bone harvesting free-hand is a very skill-dependent technique and this fact creates an important limitation for many clinicians. But today, the digital technologies give the chance to perform the bone harvesting procedure in a computer guided way, improving the safety, the predictability and the simplicity of the approach. Anticipation, planning and surgical control are the basis of a successful and predictable bone reconstruction treatment. The course will go through all the technical aspects from planning to surgery to allow the participant to replicate themselves the proposed protocols.

13:30 – 15:30 #Workshop : Hands on training on PC-guided bone harvesting from the retromolar area

You will learn to perform the bone harvesting procedure in a computer guided way, improving the safety, the predictability and the simplicity of the approach

15:30 – 16:00

Coffee Break

16:00 – 18:00 #Workshop : Vertical Augmentation with the Khoury´s Approach

You will learn to plan and perform vertical augmentation procedures with the Khoury´s approach reducing possible potential complications and treatment errors
