Turker Ornekol has graduated from Marmara University School of Dentistry (Istanbul) in the year 1978 and started his private practice in Istanbul.

He inserted the first dental implant in 1989. The International Collage of Oral Implantology (ICOI), has recognized him with the title “fellow” in 1991, and qualified with the title “Diplomate” in 1993. He was active in starting the “Association of Osseointegration- Türkiye“ and was the inaugural president of the Association of Osseointegration and served for the first 3 terms. He became a member of European Association of Osseointegration (EAO) in 2001. He was elected to the Board of European Association of Osseointegration (EAO) in 2016. He is proud to be the part of EAO Board and serving as Treasury for the term 2023-24. Still actively practicing dentistry in “Cosmodent Center for Dentistry and Dental Implants” with the challenge to promote “excellence in dental implants” to his patients, and to contiribute to the improvement of implant dentistry in dental community.

Dr. med. dent. Brenda Mertens is a specialist for more than 15 years in Periodontology. She graduated as laureate in dentistry at the University of Heidelberg (Germany) in 2005. She did the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP) Post-Graduate program in Periodontology and Implantology in Strasbourg (France) from 2005-2008 and finalized at the same time her Doctorate Degree.

Former Associate Professor at the Department of Periodontology in Montpellier (France), she is nowadays lecturer in multiple Dental Schools and continuing education programs across Europe.

Meanwhile she was one of the first EFP Junior Officers for the External Affairs Committee of the EFP (2014-2017) and member of the EAO Communication Committee (2016-2023). Currently she is Scientific Vice President of the National Board of the Société Française de Parodontologie et Implantologie Orale (SFPIO), the EAO Membership Committee and the Osteology Expert council.

Author of several national and international peer reviewed publications and book chapters. International speaker on; periodontal plastic surgery, peri-implantitis and management of ortho-perio patients.

Dr. med. dent. Brenda Mertens performs clinical work in her own Private Practice limited to Periodontology and Oral Implantology in Montpellier.

Dr. Victor Palarie serves as a leading researcher at the Rudolfs Cimdins Riga Biomaterials Innovations and Development Centre, Latvia, as well as a university lecturer-researcher at the University of Medicine in Moldova. He has extensive experience in clinical and experimental dentistry, clinical anatomy and tissue engineering, dental implantology and oral and maxillofacial surgery. After completing his university studies and residency in dentistry, he specialized through a fellowship program in oral-maxillo-facial surgery. He performed his PhD doctorate in tissue engineering / organ transplantation. He continued his studies through internship and specialization in the famous international centres from University of Vienna, Austria, University of Connecticut and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, USA, Goethe Universitätsklinikum Frankfurt am Main, Germany, Universitätsmedizin der Johannes Gutenberg Mainz , Germany and L’Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria di Ferrara Arcispedale Sant’Anna, Italy.

Prof. Unsal had his high school education in Ankara, Türkiye. Following his graduation from the Dental School of University of Ankara, he started his academic career as a research assistant in the Department of Fixed and Removable Prosthesis. He has been granted a government scholorship to have his Ph D at the University of Sheffield School of Clinical Dentistry on 1991. In October 1994 he has been awarded his Ph D degree with the topic ‘The Clinical Measurement of Stress & Strain Induced in Branemark Implant Fixtures and Abutments During the Fitting of a Cast Beam & During Application of Simulated Functional Loads’. He has done his military service at Gülhane Military Medical Academy, Ankara. He has become an associate professor in 1999 and professor in 2005. His work is mainly concentrated on dental implants and metal free ceramic restorations. He is the founder and current president of TFI (Together for Implantology) a non profit post graduate educational organization in Türkiye. The organization is supported by a Turkish Dental Implant Company namely Nucleoss.

He has resigned from his appointment at the University of Ankara in June 2015. He is currently working in his private clinic and his post-graduate teaching efforts do take the rest of his working time.

Prof. Hyeonjong Lee is an esteemed academic and expert specializing in Digital Dentistry, Computerized Simulation, and Implantology. He obtained his DMD from Kyung Hee University’s College of Dentistry in Seoul, completing his studies between 2002 and 2008. Then, he completed a prosthodontic program from 2008 to 2012, and furthered his education and research by becoming a fellow and obtaining a Ph.D. from 2015 to 2017 at the same institute.

Prof. Lee broadened his knowledge through a valuable opportunity as a Visiting Scholar at the Fixed Prosthodontics & Biomaterial at the University of Geneva from 2017 to 2018. Continuing his academic journey, he joined at Pusan National University in South Korea, serving as an Assistant Professor from 2019 to 2021. Currently, he holds the esteemed position of Clinical Associate Professor in the Dept. of Prosthodontics at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. Prof. Lee’s expertise and significant contributions have earned him widespread respect as a leading figure in the fields of digital dentistry and implantology.

Francesco qualified from the University of Naples. Italy in 1997. He attended a number of post-graduate training courses in periodontology in Italy and Sweden completing his specialty program (MClinDent) at UCL, London in 2008. His research career started with a Clinical research fellowship from the Italian Society of Periodontology (2000) followed by a PhD in clinical periodontology (2005) both at UCL. He received a number of awards including the AAP clinical Research Award (2005), Antony Rizzo Young Investigator Award in (2009), Innovators in Diabetes Award from the UK Charity Diabetes UK (2012) and a Clinical Senior Lectureship from the Department of Health in UK (2010). He was appointed Professor of Periodontology and Head of the Periodontology Unit at UCL in 2017. His research focus is predominantly on the association between periodontal diseases and systemic diseases including cardiovascular diseases and diabetes as well as pathogenesis of periodontitis and innovative regenerative therapies.
